Dear Lolah,
I created this blog for you over 2 years ago and this is my first letter to you on it! 1-That's sad, 2-It isn't my first letter to you ever though! I've been writing and journaling about you ever since you were in my tummy and I will continue to do so whether it's online, in a book, or in my phone. You are a part of me and every day I get to see your beautiful and happy face and every day I want to remember it.
Tonight, before you went to sleep you gave me three kisses and told me to sleep tight. So adorable. I love when you repeat back to me all of the sweet things I say to you. Now when you repeat back to me all of the disciplinarian things I say to you, that's another story. I am impressed with you daily. You listen so well. You absorb knowledge and wisdom. You are a gem. Everyone that meets you says "she's so happy!", "she's so beautiful!", "she's so smart!", "she talks a lot!", "she's a jewel". Looks like we named you appropriately kiddo.
You're snoring. How precious. We sleep in the same bed because I am liking our bonding time when we sleep. You slept alone for over a year and when we transitioned you into a toddler bed, well, you started sleeping with me and daddy more. And we've grown to like it. When you want your own room, it's all yours. I won't be upset. I will miss you, but I will be happy for us all that we've grown and gotten ready for independence. It' a good thing babe.
I want you to know that everything I do in my life is so that I can be an example to you, my love. I want you to see first hand what it is like to obey God and to Love God. You can't say one without the other. I want you to see an honorable, strong, woman who listens to the Lord and puts her Heavenly Father first. Everything will follow if you follow the King first. It's so so important my dear daughter. It's more important than a crush or a new pair of shoes. I know how important those are but just think, if you ask God to give you those things and listen to HIM first, you'll get all of it and MORE. It can all be yours my love. Just ask Him what you should do. Always talk to Him. Always talk to me. I won't ever think what you have to say is silly, stupid, lame, ignorant, or childish. If it is coming out of your mouth, then it is coming from your heart and I will listen and be there for you. If you want advice, I will give it. If you want to vent, I will listen. If you want to cry, I will cry with you. Your journey is a blessing to me to witness and I pray you allow me in it and I pray you never forget you've got me and the Lord on your side. I'm your number 1 fan.
Did I embarrass you with that? TOO Mushy?
I'm not that mushy, only on paper.
I LOVE YOU. ALL OF YOU. EVEN when you toot in your sleep, like you did just now.
Love,
Mommy.
always and all ways.
